JazzyWear!

There are quite a few things girls love -
 Diamonds, perfume, jewelry, and shoes.

Founded in the year 2008 in Athens, Ohio, JazzyWear is an online shoe boutique that features stylish flats, pumps and boots for women. All shoes are offered in audacious colors and styles!

If any of you are living in the Cali area, please pay attention:  JazzyWear does SHOE PARTIES!  Yes, you heard me correctly- no more candle/food/31/etc parties.  This is amazing ... now if we only lived on the West Coast.  E-mail Jazzy at  jazzywear@gmail.com for more info on how to do this!

We picked this super cute pair of sandals to review.  They are called the  Mini Turquoise Hawaiian Sandal and were a hit.  For those of you who have been following the blog my wedding colors have changed just like the weather in this town - from one extreme to another. Finally it has been decided that it is going to be navy, shades of pinks and gold/silver- sometimes you have to Pinterest hours to figure it out.  Anyway, the blues fit perfectly with what  I wanted.

To begin with they were delivered fast!  I loved the little paper they were wrapped in when delivered - kind of like a surprise present inside that little box!

Another thing I loved is there are matching adult/children shoes!  I can just imagine the cute pictures that can be done with bridesmaids and flower girls during the reception.  Everyone kicks their heels off for flips (besides me because I am short) during the reception, so they should look cute while dancing the night away!  Plus, they are a steal - $12/$15.

If you are looking for a unique pair of sandals or heels, check out her site.  But more importantly ... they make great presents!

{2012 Holiday Gift Guide}TolietTree Fogless Shower Mirror

My husband has a thick beard.  I love it but I hate when it comes time for him to shave.  Every time he does, I am reminded on our differing definitions of clean.  I began begging him to please shave in the shower.  He was afraid that if he couldn't see that he would cut himself. I can't really blame him for that but I did wish we had a better solution.  Then I remembered that ToiletTree has shower mirrors!

I have never used a shower mirror and was mostly exited that my husband could use it to shave.  The mirror I received was their Fogless Shower Mirror with Squeegee  and it comes with a travel bag.  This is great for people who, like my husband, travel often for work. The mirror has suction cups on the back so it is fairly easy to put up in your shower.  Behind the mirror, there is a small reservoir that you fill with hot water.  That activates the fogless feature of the mirror.  The mirror also has a built in squeegee.  This is great because you can remove any water splashes without smearing the mirror with your hand or wash cloth.

I wasn't expecting to like this mirror as much as I did.  I use it every day while I wash my hair and face.  I have been cutting an extra five minutes off my bathing time by using my face wash in the shower.  My husband said that he really likes using the mirror to trim up his neck.  The steam from the shower really helps him get a great shave.

{2012 Holiday Gift Guide} Mia Mariu Giveaway!

Whenever I buy myself something it is either a book or makeup. I only buy myself clothes when I absolutely need something new to wear.  But I can't pass any makeup section without stopping to see what is new.  If a friend tells me about a new mascara, I go buy it.  No questions asked.  I just started hearing great things about Mia Mariu so I knew I had to try it!  When I was online trying to decide what to choose, I used their great Shade Finder tool.  I have olive skin so sometimes ordering online is a little tricky.  But the Shade Finder really helped me select the right shades.  I found that their website was easy to navigate and it was simple to make an order.

After careful selection, I ended up getting the:
~PERFECTING FINISH Mineral Cream Concealer in Anís
~Mineral Powder Bronzer in South Beach
~Luminous Lip Gloss in Romance
~Volumizing and Lengthening Mascara in Black

The first product I tried was the mineral cream concealer.  I have extremely dark circles under my eyes(thanks genetics!).  I use a super thick concealer to get rid of them but do not like to use it on my face.  Mia Mariu's concealer was great for all my other skin imperfections.  It was the perfect shade so I could even use it without any foundation or powder.

The bronzer was my favorite! I chose the pinkish shade of South Beach. It was a great way to have the bronzing effect with a slight blush color also. The product really went on smoothly and blended really easily into my foundation.  I have been using this bronzer every day now for a few weeks!

The lip gloss is one of the best lip glosses I have tried in a while.  I am a huge lip gloss girl and this did not disappoint.  The color I chose, Romance, was perfect for every day wear.   It is a light pink with lots of shine.  Their lip glosses all contain vitamins to keep your lips feeling great.  This is not a sticky gloss!  I hate that thick feeling that some glosses have but this goes on smooth.  I plan on buying another color really soon!

The mascara was the only product I wasn't sure I was going to like.  I am really picky about my mascara because I hate that clumpy eye look.  While the brush looks standard, it really was wonderful.  The mascara seemed to lengthen my eye lashes without getting them all stuck together.  My eyes looked naturally plumped without it seeming that I was wearing a ton of eye makeup.

Overall, I enjoyed all my beauty products from Mia Mariu!  Any of their products would be a great gift(they have makeup sets) or stocking stuffers.  I know I would be thrilled to wake up to some makeup brushes!*

Mia Mariu is generously offering every product(AR$57) that I tried to one of our lucky readers.  If you win, you have 48 hours to respond to the email I have sent you.  You are given the choice of shades or colors on all the products.

I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample for review purposes. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience.

{2012 Holiday Gift Guide} Kisspat Hair Color Chalk

One time in fourth grade, my friend and I decided that we wanted to dye our hair blue.  We went to a the store and bought this temporay blue hair dye that was kind of like a paste.  We stunk into her bathroom and began to dye our hair.  I remember looking in the mirror and thinking two things.  One was that my hair looked horrible.  It turned into weird blackish blue color and was obvious that it didn't turn out the way it should have.  My friend had blonde hair and her hair turned green.  The second thing I was thinking was that my mother was going to kill me.  We sat in her bathroom until it was time for me to go home.  As I walked into my house, I saw my mom's face.  She was not happy!  I had to wash my hair five times that night to get it out and ever since have stayed away from temporary hair color.  When I got the chance to try Kisspat's Hair Color Chalk, I was a little nervous about trying it.  But like so many other things from the 90's, I knew it had to better than what I used before.

The hair chalk feels way different than sidewalk chalk.  I was expecting this to be really messy to do but it really wasn't!  The chalk doesn't rub off on your hand as you are using it.  The chalks are used on damp hair so the only place the chalk sticks is on something wet.  I used the chalk on my hair before trying it on my daughter to make sure it really was easy to put on.  My hair is really dark brown so some of the colors didn't show up as well as I would have liked them to.  But the colors that I really like(pink, purple, and blue) all showed up relatively well.  Now my daughter has red hair and all the colors showed up well in her hair.  She was amazed as soon as she saw the results!  I really loved that the color easily washed out!  I didn't have any problems with the chalk staining my clothes or pillowcase but I would suggest not wearing your favorite sweater when rocking the hair chalk look.  This is great for dress up, Halloween or even just a fun night out.

Now this would be the point where I would normally show you how the hair chalked looked in our hair.  But alas, I am waiting(not so patiently) on a new phone battery.  All of my pictures of our great hair do's are on there.  But as soon as I get my battery, I will update this post with our pictures!

{2012 Holiday Gift Guide} Champion Me Books~Giveaway!

Every night out family all jumps into bed and we read a few books to our daughter.  She really enjoys it and we are always on the look out for great books.  When I was offered the chance to try Champion Me Books, I was excited to let my daughter know.  They offer Personalized Children's Books that place your child in their own adventure!

My daughter and I sat down to make her books.  We were lucky enough to get to make all four ebooks to try.  The books are:

[Your Child] vs the Scribble Monster
In a world of gadgets and machines, our Hero sets out on a crazy adventure to find a cure for a patient with a VERY bizarre ailment!

[Your Child] in Gadgetland
In a world of gadgets and machines, our Hero sets out on a crazy adventure to find a cure for a patient with a VERY bizarre ailment!
[Your Child]& the Stonkeropolous
When a frightening screech sends the town soldiers running to their mommies, our Hero sets out to face off with the mysterious beast alone!

[Your Child] in the Great Escape of Mighty Star!
In the form of...a deer! A bird! A dog! Whatever it takes for our Hero to protect the magical existence of all things cute and cuddly from a power-hungry wizard!

Each of the has a fully customizable hero.  My daughter clapped her hands she was so excited to make herself into a cartoon character. Along with choosing hair, skin and eye color you can choose hair styles and facial feature shapes.  Plus your child is able to choose the color of the clothes they wear in the book.

All of the books are very cutely illustrated!  The stories were easy to follow and kept the attention of a two year old.  I was impressed that they were 34 pages long too.  Most children's books are way shorter.  My daughter loved seeing herself in the books and was asking to make more. Her favorite was the Great Escape of Mighty Star.  It has everything a little girl loves, fairies and a unicorn!  I think that these would make great gifts for any small child or expectant mommy!  These books are the kind that you save forever for your child.

Good luck!

{2012 Holiday Gift Guide} Beauty Box 5

I am one of those people that start my Christmas shopping as soon as October starts. I really like to think about what my family would like and start looking for deals.  My husband is the same way so he has already been asking me what I would like this year.  I told him a few things that I wanted and one of them was a beauty subscription box.  So when I was able to try the Beauty Box Five, I was excited to see if this could be a possible match for me.

Beauty Box Five is a monthly beauty box subscription service.  Every month you will receive four or five product samples.  The samples are all beauty related so you can expect makeup, skin care items, hair and nail products, etc.  They have three different kinds of subscriptions(monthly, quarterly, and yearly) and you can even give one to someone as as gift.  One month is only $12!

First of all, the box itself is really cute!  There is something about that Tiffany blue color that every woman loves.  I opened my box and expected to find small samples of all the products.  But actually, three out of my four products were full sized!
My box included:
~Smith's Rosebud Salve-Full Sized
~It's a 10 Miracle Styling Serum-Two sample packets
~Supergoop! SPF 30+ UV Lotion for Body & Face-Sample tube
~pur-delicate Gentle Soy Milk Cleanser and Makeup Remover-Full Sized
~Lavera Eyeliner-Full Sized

The first product I tried was the Supergoop! SPF 30+ UV Lotion for Body & Face.  I was outside with my daughter when I realized that she didn't have any sunblock on.  I used this on her and was really satisfied.  She didn't get any sort of sun on her skin and it didn't leave her with that weird sticky feeling that most sunblocks have.  It is also very water resistant which is great for my daughter.  She is always sweating so it is important that it will keep her safe from the sun.

Next up, I tried Smith's Rosebud Salve. At first I wasn't sure how I could use this.  But after reading the back, I found that you can use this for just about any skin issue.  My elbows and knees are really dry so I put a little on it.  It was really moisturizing and it smells fantastic!  I have been using this on my daughter's occasional diaper rashes.  It is so gentle yet it is still really effective.

It's a 10 Miracle Styling Serum was one of my favorites.  I usually don't like those little packets of hair product samples.  However,  when I tried this I loved it.  It left my hair super shiny and smooth. My hair was frizz free and felt great.  I only used a tiny amount and it really went a long way.  This is one product that I am buying for sure!

Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to wash your face with milk?  Pur-delicate Gentle Soy Milk Cleanser and Makeup Remover gives you that feeling.  The product is creamy, milky goodness.  My face felt amazingly soft after I used it just once.  The soap doesn't lather so it feels like more of a lotion.  It rises off easily and left my skin feeling great for an entire day!  Another new must-have!

Lavera Eyeliner was also great!  I have a problem sometimes with eyeliners making my eyes itch and water.  I need an eyeliner that is really sensitive.  This eyeliner goes on really smooth without any clumping.  Normally, I only use black eyeliner but I really liked this color as well.  It is a great fall color!

Overall, I really liked my box!  It was a great value at only $12.  I estimated the products in the box to be about $25 worth of products.  I liked all of the products even though I wouldn't normally buy some of them.  This is a great way to discover new products!

{2012 Holiday Gift Guide} Leener's You-Make-Kits

Over the last month, I have really been into baking.  I haven't had as many successes as I thought that I would.  Half of the time I start a recipe I realize that I have to wrong kind of flour or am missing an ingredient.  I was about to give up but then I got Leener's Big Soft Pretzel Making Kit!

Leener's makes all sorts of You-Make-It Kit's.  The offer kid friendly kits including make your own soda and candy.  They also have adult kits in which you can make your own beer, wine, sake, and more.  You can learn how to cure meats, make condiments and even cheeses with their kits.

The kit includes:
~specialty flour
~vital wheat gluten
~brewer’s yeast
~coarse sea salt
~baking soda
~corn meal
~a basting brush
~recipes for three different kinds on pretzels
~twisting practice rope

I was a little nervous about trying to make pretzels.  For some reason it seemed like it would be really hard to do.  When I first  opened my kit I was surprised to find that every single thing you need(besides one egg and an optional car of beer).  It comes with a practice rope to help you learn how to make the correct pretzel shape.  It was way easier than I thought it would be and after a few attempts, I was ready to start baking!

The recipe was really easy to follow. I went with the first basic recipe the first time. I mixed all the dry ingredients with the warmed beer mixture and form the pretzel dough.  You have to let the dough rise, knead it then let it rise again.  Then came the fun part of rolling out the dough.  The rope is the length and shape that you should roll out your dough.  Here is how my turned out:
Not too shabby!
Next, I boiled the pretzels in baking soda water and brushed them with the egg white.  I put the pretzels on a pan coated with corn mill(prevents sticking) and sprinkled them with salt.  Then I put them in the oven. And that's it!
The pretzels turned out fantastic! They may not have been perfect looking but they tasted perfect! I would recommend Leener's Kit for any woman for this holiday season!

{2012 Holiday Gift Guide}Bedford Slims Tobacco Vapourette

I am not an everyday smoker but I do like to have an occasional cigarette.  Since I only like a smoke every once and a while, I never smoke a full pack of cigarettes without them going stale.  We have a daughter and two dogs and I really don't like smoking anywhere near them.  I have heard of electronic cigarettes but have never tried them.  I didn't see how they really could be smokeless. Then I was given the  chance to try Bedford Slims Tobacco Vaporette!

The Bedford Slims Tobacco Vaporette kit includes:

Battery:
~280 mAH
~5-volt
~Lithium Ion Rechargeable Battery
~3-hours continuous vaping
~2-hours battery recharge time
~Red or Green LED Light Power Up

USB:
~Input DC5V / Output DC5V
~2-hours recharge time
~Lightweight and Portable
~Comes in White Glows red when recharging

Cartridge:
~300 puffs
~2.5 OHM (low resistance)
~Built-in atomizer
~Safeguard Tip Design prevents leaking
~6 cartridges equals nearly a carton of smokes

Flavors:
~Tobacco: Mild, natural vanilla flavor with subtle notes of wild Kentucky tobacco. No sweetness here, our Tobacco is earthy and rustic yet light and complex.
~Menthol: A seductive kiss of mint that freshens your breath as it soothes.
~Dark Roast: This home-brewed hero was made with Pure Gum Arabica beans, gingko biloba, and a dash of caffeine for a totally eye- opening experience.

Laying in bed with it!
I really liked that I was able to have a cigarette without having to leave my daughter's side.  Since there is no smoke, there is no secondhand smoke.  This makes it possible to smoke right next to my little one.  Plus I was actually able to lay in bed with a book while taking an occasional puff. I liked that I could take my time smoking,  I didn't feel like I needed to smoke a whole one in one sitting.  I was able to take a puff here and there when I needed it.  The fact that the charger comes with the kit is a huge plus.  There is nothing worse than loving a product only to find out that you need a charger or batteries that weren't provided. This is also a huge money saver.  A pack of cigarettes is about six dollars right now.  A five pack of Bedford Slims cartridges(equal to about ten packs of cigarettes) is only $13. I plan on only smoking these from now on!  This would make a great gift for any smoker in your life!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

{2012 Holiday Gift Guide} Teach My Toddler

Like every other mother, I think that my daughter is very smart.  I am lucky to have a child that loves everything about learning.  We are constantly singing the ABC's or speaking in Spanish(she actually knows more than I do!).  I knew after I first looked at the Teach My Toddler Kit that she would be thrilled.

Teach My has different kits for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers.  I selected the toddler kit and was excited to see everything that it included.  The kit comes with four sections: Alphabet, Numbers, Colors, and Shapes.  It comes in a storage case and each subject is separated.  I really like that everything is really organized and easy to find. My daughter's playroom seems to suck everything into a black hole.  I will open a pack of flashcards and when I go to put them away almost half are missing.

The entire Teach My Toddler Set includes:
~4 Board Books
~4 Full-Size Posters
~5 Foam Puzzles
~50+ Flashcards
~Teaching Guide
~Storage Case

As soon as I got the kit in the mail, we opened it.  There was a ton of material and I was real impressed with the quality of everything.  The flashcards are really sturdy which is really important for toddlers. The color flashcards are my favorite.  The color side is just solid color, not a picture of something that color.  If a flashcard has a picture of a carrot on it for the color orange, my daughter notices the carrot more than the color. I hung all the posters up in her playroom.  The alphabet poster is a topic of discussion every day in our house.  "Mama, what is a newt?"

My daughter knows all her colors and shapes but I found this to be a great way to refresh her memory.  She really liked doing the puzzles because she knew where all of the pieces went.  We have mostly been working on her ABC's and numbers.  She knows how to count so we are working more on number recognition.  WE have been reading the foam books and doing the puzzles and flashcards almost every day.

I love that this is a whole learning system all in one place.  No more finding a great alphabet book but finding out there isn't a similar number book as well.  This is an easy to follow, fun system that any little one would enjoy doing!  I recommend this for anyone who has a little one from ages six months to five years old!

You can buy a whole kit for only $49.99 or just a section starting out at $14.99.  Order here!

{2012 Holiday Gift Guide} Kristian Regale Sparkling Drinks

We thought that instead of just showcasing great gifts for the holidays, we would also share some great products for all the holiday parties!
A few weeks ago, my daughter spotted her tea set in the closet.  I have never let her use it but she has been really good lately.  The first time I set up the whole set and we sat down to play.  She was genuinely confused that there wasn't anything in the cups.  I wanted to make this fun for her so I needed a special drink.  Then I remembered that I had four bottles on Kristian Regale in the fridge!

Kristian Regale is an brand of all natural, non-alcoholic sparkling juice.  They strive to make all their juices with as few ingredients as possible and do not contain preservatives or artificial flavors.  And because they are alcohol and caffeine free, kids can enjoy right along with the adults!
We had the chance to try four flavors:
~Apple
~Pear
~Pomegranate-Apple
~Black Currant

I was expecting the drinks to be a more flavored water than an actual juice.  But these are real fruit juice! I could drink the Pomegranate-Apple every single day.  It is such a unique flavor and it is so darn tasty.  My daughter really enjoyed the Apple and Pear flavors. These are perfect for her tea parties!  They are light in color(for spills) and add the perfect touch to make her party feel special.  The Black Currant would be perfect for our Christmas dinner for the kids.  While the adults are drinking wine, the kids do not have an feel excluded.  I think the Kristian Regale is the perfect way to make an ordinary day feel special!

{2012 Holiday Gift Guide} Ozeri FRESHSPIN Salad Spinner and Serving Bowl

Not too long ago, I was able to try Ozeri's Digital Scale.  You can read my review here.  Ozeri makes digital products for the modern world.  They have a ton of really cool stuff that I would love to try out like electronic wine openers, salt and pepper mills, and book lights.   I was really impressed with the scale, so when they asked if I would like to try another product I had to say yes!

I received that FRESHSPIN Salad Spinner and Serving Bowl this time.  Now I have never even used a salad spinner so I was intrigued.  The first night I tried the salad spinner, I wasn't really prepared to be wowed by it.  However, after using it,  I really like it.   The amount of water that came off the salad way exceeded my expectations.  There is a stop button even to stop the colander inside from moving.  It really only took two pumps to get all the excess water off our spinach!
Look at all the water!
My favorite part is that it is a salad spinner plus a serving bowl.  I am way likely to use the salad spinner because I am not dirtying up any extra dishes by doing so. I just cleaned the spinach and tossed in some cheese and cranberries.  So easy!  This would make a great present for any mom or health conscience!

Or buy it on Amazon!

{2012 Holiday Gift Guide}Pop Grrl Nail Charms

My daughter over the last few months has really became a girly girl.  She is always asking for make up on and her nails painted.  I am constantly trying to do nail art(trying the key word)!  She keeps asking me to paint her nail with designs but it is way to hard to do on a wiggling toddler.  So when I discovered Pop Grrl Nail Charms, I knew she would love them!

About Pop Grrl Nail Charms:
"Pop Grrl Nail Charms feature the newest innovation of stick-on nails with poppin’ designs,
creating a unique 3D look! Girls will be setting the trend at home and school with hottest new
fashion accessory. Pop Grrl Nail Charms have a variety of designs, including top licenses that girls love. The new Pop Grrl product lines from The Wish Factory are perfect for any fashonista!"
We tried the Bow So Cute and Blow Pop styles of nails.  I was worried that I would have to glue them on her nails but they have a sticky backing instead.  The nails stay on but also are easy to take off if your child wants to.  My daughter is still young so her nails were too small for some of the nails.  But she really didn't mind!  She had so much fun putting them on and wearing them around the house all day.
The bear in the the Bow So Cute style!
Trying on the first one!
The full set of Blow Pop nails.  The grapes are scented!
I know that my niece would love these also.  The nails are only $6.99 so they would be a great stocking stuffer!   While I wouldn't let my daughter wear fake nails all the time, it is a nice treat!

{2012 Holiday Gift Guide} Mary Kay Review and Party!

We are kicking off our 2012 Holiday Gift Guide with the world famous Mary Kay Cosmetics!  I have never tried any of their skincare products so when Amber Rose - Independent Beauty Consultant contacted me about trying some stuff out, I was excited!

I was able to try the Mary Kay® Botanical Effects™ Mask.  The first thing I noticed it that it was white!  I don't know what color I expected but white wasn't it.  It is really thick and creamy.  It went on very smoothly.  Because it was so thick, I overestimated the amount I would need to cover my face.  It really only takes a small amount and feels more like lotion than a mask.  As I waited for the mask to dry, I could feel my skin tightening.  After I washed it off, I instantly noticed a difference in my skin.  It really cleared up all my excess oil but was non-drying.  I noticed that my skin felt cleaner longer after I used it.  It also helped clear up my pores.  I have really large pores so it is hard to find a product that does a good job cleaning my face.  I really like my mask and plan on buying some more Mary Kay soon!  All their products would be great stocking stuffers for women or teenagers.

Right now, we are hosting our very own online Mary Kay party!  Everyone who buys from our party will receive free shipping on orders $50+, and an extra 10% off of orders over $100!  Just go here and shop your heart out!  Just write "Blabs party" in the comment section on the order form to receive your discount!

There are a few specials going on right now.  Mary Kay has two new lip glosses out right now and $1 from the sale of each lip gloss is donated to the Mary Kay Foundation - which gives grants to organizations that help victims of domestic violence. Also you can start your own Mary Kay business in October for only $75 plus you will receive up to $150 credit on your first product order.
